  • Solano Grill & Bar continues the commitment to cutting edge cuisine with the release of the Dinner for November 1997 menu. By changing the dinner menu every two months Solano Grill & Bar brings the latest combinations and seasonal items to the table and this menu for the final months of fall will be no different. Fall has brought the Bay Area many flavorful produces and vegetables which Chef Sam Chen, formally of La Folie in San Francisco, has used in combination with exquisite seafood and meats to produce dishes of the highest caliber.

    Some notable new additions to the entree list include a Vegetable Risotto in a Thai Massaman Curry with Fresh Okra, Baby Bok-Choy, Baby Root Vegetables, and Garden Herbs and an Oven Roasted Asian Five Spice Marinated Double Breast of Chicken. A Grilled Hawaiian Mahi Mahi Fillet with a Puree of Plantain Bananas, Fall Vegetables, and a Housemade Persimmon Salsa is also featured on the current dinner menu. The Mahi Mahi is perfectly complemented by the Plantain Bananas which have the slightest sweet flavor and the texture of the meat is brought out by the Persimmon Salsa. In the Fall tradition Chef Sam Chen has added a Braised Porvini Farm Veal Shank in Pale Ale served on a bed of Orzo, Parsnip, Celery Roots and Chinese Star Anise.

    Two new appetizers have been added to the Starter list; each with the flair which has made Solano Grill & Bar's cuisine so distinctive. Oolong Tea Smoked Duck Puff Pastry with a Sweet Chili Plum Sauce are a sumptuous handmade delicacy made daily from fresh duck, Rock Shrimp and Chinese Chives. Also new are the Vietnamese "Eight Treasure" Vegetables Rolls with Shitake Mushrooms and Cellophane Noodles served with a Peanut Sauce. These handmade rolls feature eight different ingredients which provide complex and wonderful flavors.
